Day 10: Eco-Creators – Turning Trash into Treasure

Date: Friday, October 11th, 2024
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: The Cardboard Castle, 15 Chaffinch Road, Hobsonville Point
Instructor: Terri Papagiannis

Programme Overview:

Welcome to Eco-Creators – Turning Trash into Treasure! On this exciting final day, children will explore assemblage art, using recycled and found materials to create imaginative, eco-friendly masterpieces. Inspired by the bold and resourceful work of contemporary artist Vik Muniz, known for transforming discarded objects into incredible artworks, children will learn how to turn everyday materials into unique creations. This hands-on workshop encourages creativity, sustainability, and rethinking how we use objects. After a fun morning of creating art from recycled materials, we’ll head to Hobsonville Point Waterpark for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll either collaborate on a group project or allow free-choice time for each child to explore their own ideas. With a small class size of 8-10 children, every artist will have plenty of time and attention to bring their eco-friendly art to life.

What to Bring:

  • Packed morning tea and lunch

  • Appropriate outdoor clothing

  • Water bottle

  • Clothes that can get messy

Pricing:

$85 for the full day, including all materials.
